Mya Jean Maus, age 17 of Henderson, passed away unexpectedly on August 30th, 2025. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Henderson, MN at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday, September 8, 2025 from 4-8 P.M, and continued one hour prior to the services. Interment will follow the service in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Henderson, MN. Luncheon to follow the burial at the church social hall.

Mya was born with a spark that never dimmed on March 26, 2008 to Roger and Denice (Todnem) Maus. Mya was a former student at Le Sueur-Henderson Schools, where she was known for her bright personality, determination, and unapologetic honesty. She was currently enrolled on K12 Elevate online schooling. She approached life with a sassy attitude and a fearless sense of self, always telling it like it was, and making people laugh in the process.

Mya worked at Bayside Manor in Gaylord, where her strong work ethic and caring nature made her beloved among staff and residents alike. Whether she was lending a hand or sharing a kind word, Mya always gave her best and brought warmth to those around her. She also previously worked at Luke's Cafe in Le Sueur.

She had a deep love for animals and a special bond with her three cherished horses: Moonshine, Dusty, and Tuff, as well as her dog, Oakland. Mya was also a former athlete for the Giants as a devout softball, volleyball and basketball player.

Though young in age, Mya had a big, generous heart and a spirit far beyond her years. She fiercely loved her family and friends and was never afraid to stand up for the people she cared about. Her loyalty ran deep, and her presence made others feel seen, heard, and loved.

Mya’s time with us was far too short, but the impact she made will last a lifetime. She will be remembered for her courage, compassion, quick wit, and the way she lived every day with heart.

Ride free, Mya. You’ll always be in our hearts.

Mya is survived by her parents, Roger and Denice of Henderson, MN; siblings, Kayla (Gabe) Nash of Le Sueur, Philip (Hailey) Maus of Hector, MN, and Lane Maus of Henderson, MN; niece, Ella Maus, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.
