Myrtle Fisher, age 91 of Arlington, died on October 25, 2010 at the Sibley Medical Center in Arlington. Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 29, 2010 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Arlington. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington and will continue one hour prior to service at church on Friday. Interment will be in the St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church Cemetery in Arlington. Myrtle was born in Green Isle Township on May 14, 1919 to Edward and Adeline "Lena" (Brockoff) Kamps. She was baptized on June 8, 1919 and confirmed on May 1, 1932 both in the St. Paul's Lutheran Church by Rev. Robert Heidmann. Before Myrtle was married, she worked at H M Noack & Sons Plant in Arlington. On May 12, 1948, she was married to Orville R. Fisher at St Paul's Lutheran Church Parsonage by Rev. John Bradtke. After they were married, Myrtle was a homemaker and worked as an assistant cook at Gaylord and Arlington Nursing Homes from 1979 until her retirement in 1999. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Ladies Aid. She loved cooking, gardening, embroidering and caring for her grandchildren. Myrtle is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Orville on January 11, 2000; siblings, Milton, Harold, Lloyd, Luverne and Gordon Kamps; brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, Minnetta Kamps, Myrtle Kamps, Eldoris Kamps, Albert Wacker Duane Spoors and Inez Fisher. Survived by children, Larry (Carol) Fisher of Arlington, Roger (Mary) Fisher of Arlington, Kathy (Keith) Eggersgluess of Arlington, 6 grandchildren, Chad Fisher (Fiance Kelly Finstrom), Corey (Heidi Jo) Fisher, Todd (Amanda) Fisher, Tara Fisher, Katie (Nick) Rauch and Krista Eggersgluess, 2 great grandchildren, Landon and Nolan Fisher, 2 sisters, Leona Wacker of Arlington and Dorothy Spoors of Bayport, sisters and brother- in-laws, Dorothy Kamps of South St. Paul, Ruth Kamps of Lesueur and Earl Fisher of Arlington, and numerous Nieces and Nephews. Casket bearers for the funeral will be the grandchildren.
