 
            Nadine M. Schmillen, age 76 of the Pequot Lakes area, died on May 6, 2013 at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia, MN. Memorial Service will be at 1p.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at The Lutheran Home Chapel, 611 W. Main, in Belle Plaine, MN. Reverend Ed Fredrich will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel on Thursday. Nadine was born in Duluth, MN on October 7, 1936 to Harold and June Johnson. She grew up in Duluth where she graduated from high school. On April 2, 1954 she married John Schmillen of St. James, MN. They made their home in the Bloomington and Burnsville areas. Nadine was a loving mother and homemaker while her children were young. She later worked as an Executive Assistant for American Express for many years. Upon retirement, they moved to the Brainerd Lakes area and settled in Pequot Lakes. She was an avid artist, loved painting, gardening and flowers. She enjoyed the outdoors, golden retrievers, lakes, her church, and especially her family. Nadine was an active member in the Women's Club in Pequot Lakes. She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Dwight and Michael Johnson. She is survived by her husband, John Schmillen of Belle Plaine, MN; Sister, Dianne (Charles) Johnson of Sonora, CA; Children, Deborah Taylor of Blaine, MN; Susan (Michael) Becht of Rapid City, SD; Robert (Jamee) West of Minnetrista, MN; Don (Liz) Schmillen of Lakeville, MN; 12 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren;
