Nancy Gjerde

Nancy Gjerde, age 73, died at the Le Center Central Health Care on her birthday, August 30th, 2022.Nancy was born on August 30, 1949, to Ben and Lillie Gjerde. Nancy graduated from Le Sueur High School. She then went on to graduate from the University of Minnesota with a bachelor’s degree in social work. Nancy worked in Dakota and Sibley Counties as a social worker. She cared deeply for her clients and fought for their well-being.  Nancy enjoyed reading, camping, and traveling (especially her trips abroad).

Nancy is survived by her sisters and brother-in-law’s: Shirley & Mal Eidem, Rapid City, South Dakota and Marilyn & Roger Boettcher, Le Center, Minnesota. Her nieces and nephews: Jeff (Kari) Boettcher, Eric (DeAnn) Eidem, Sara (Todd) Joyal and Karen Eidem (Ed Hammer), as well as many great nieces and nephews.

She is proceeded in death by her parents and a great nephew.

The Funeral service will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 232 West Minnesota Street in Le Center, Minnesota on Friday, September 9th at 11 o'clock, visitation is one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow lunch at Mound Cemetery in Le Sueur, Minnesota.

The family would like to thank the staff at Le Center Central Health Care and the Allina Hospice for their friendship and thoughtful care during her stay.
