Neal Hillstrom

Neal C. Hillstrom, age 86 of rural Belle Plaine, died Sunday, July 5, 2015, at Le Sueur Comfort First Care Center. Memorial Services will be Monday, July 13, 2015, at East Union Church in East Union, Carver County, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church. Service will start at 12:00 p.m. Private Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Belle Plaine, MN. Rev. Donald Genereux of the First Presbyterian Church will officiate the services. Family asks in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association or North Central Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation. Neal was born on November 8, 1928 in San Francisco Township, Carver County to Emory & Martha (Sorenson) Hillstrom. He attended Schools in Belle Plaine and graduated from Belle Plaine High School. He married Joanne Dvorak on September 23, 1950 in New Prague, MN. The couple farmed in Carver County for many years. Neal enjoyed his time with his family and grandkids. He was happiest behind the wheel of a tractor and visiting with his farming neighbors. He is survived by his wife Joanne Children; Russell (Kathy) Hillstrom of Belle Plaine, MN Douglas (Suzanna) Hillstrom of Belle Plaine, MN Anne (Sean) Keenan of Bloomington, MN 4 Grandchildren; Brian (Sheila) Hillstrom, Neil Hillstrom, special friend Thomas, Andrew Hillstrom & Natalie Hillstrom. 1 Great-Grandson; Steven Hillstrom Sister; Frances (Harry) Morningstar of Kansas City, MO He is preceded in death by his brother, Lorenzo and his wife Phyllis as well as his parents Emory and Martha Hillstrom.
