Norbert Osborne, age 90 of Le Sueur, died on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 surrounded by his family at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, August 23, 10:30 a.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Le Sueur with Fr. George Grafsky officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8p.m. Sunday, August 22 concluding with an 8:00 p.m. Knights of Columbus Rosary and Prayer Service at the Kolden Funeral Home in Le Sueur. Visitation will continue on Monday morning at the Kolden Funeral Home at 8:00 a.m. and conclude at 10:15 a.m. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Le Sueur with Military Honors. Norbert was born on January 9, 1920 in Lake Prairie Township, Nicollet County to Michael & Grace (Iten) Osborne. He grew up in the Lake Prairie Township area and graduated from Le Sueur High School in 1939. He entered the United States Army Air Corp in 1942 serving during World War II. When he returned home he married Beulah Bisch on Jan. 27, 1948 at St. Anne's Church in Le Sueur. The couple lived in St. Peter for three years belonging to St. Peter's Catholic Church. They moved to Lake Prairie Township in 1952. Norbert retired from farming in 1987 and moved to Le Sueur where he then became a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church. Norbert was active in the 3rd and 4th Degree Knights of Columbus (64 years), Traverse Elevator Board, Lake Prairie Township Board, St. Peter American Legion, St. Peter's Catholic Church Men's Club, and St. Anne's Men's Society in Le Sueur. He enjoyed golfing, woodworking, traveling and playing cards. Norbert is survived by his children, Donna (Joel) Feldman of Lakewood, WA, Rick (Matti) Osborne of St. Paul, MN, Geri (Mike) Clairmont of Bemidji, MN, and Mary (Toby) Meyer of Le Sueur, MN; grandchildren, Tim & Kelly Donovan, Katie, Jim & Emily Osborne, Megan, Kristen & Tom Clairmont, Steven (Laurel) & Charlie Sturlaugson; He is survived by a brother Mike (Jean) Osborne of Le Sueur and sister Irene Schumacher of Bettendorf, IA. Norbert is preceded in death by his wife, Beulah; son, Charles; siblings Marvin, Raymond, Delores Driscoll, Dorothy Anderson and Carryl Schloesser.
