Norma May Nagel

Norma May Nagel, age 91 of Le Sueur, died on Thursday evening, May 31, 2018 at the Ridgeview Medical Center in Le Sueur. Funeral service will be on Monday, June 4, 2018, 11:00 a.m. at the Kolden Funeral Home in Le Sueur. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery, Le Sueur, MN followed by lunch at the United Methodist Church, Le Sueur. Norma was born on May 14, 1927 to Clarence and Ruth (Liljenberg) Fitzgerald in Minneapolis, MN. She grew up in South Minneapolis and often shared fond memories of her neighborhood. She married Roland Nagel of Arlington on Oct. 21, 1950 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, MN. The couple enjoyed raising their family in both Southern California and in Minnesota. They retired in Le Sueur in 1993. Norma was a lover of books, cats, history, old Hollywood movies, dancing to the Big Band music and most of all her family. Until the end of her life, she remained a woman of beauty, grace, kindness and courage. She is survived by her children, Julia (Bill) Krenik of Le Sueur, David (Dawn) Nagel of Temecula, CA, Karen (Bob) Wolf of Henderson, MN and Melissa (John) Shackford of Edmond, OK; 10 Grandchildren, Jessica (Rob) Montanes, Jason Krenik and Jordan (Stephanie) Krenik, Alexander Nagel, Katie (Kevin) Dorn, Travis and Kendra Wolf, James, Sophia and Daniel Shackford; two great-grandchildren, Isabella Montanes and Elizabeth Dorn; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roland in 2000; sisters, Mary Simon and Alice Fitzgerald; and brothers, Owen Morris and Jack Fitzgerald.
