Norris Brandt

December 6, 1933 — January 19, 2012

Norris E. Brandt, age 78 of Henderson passed away, Thursday, January 19, after a long battle with cancer at the Minnesota Valley Health Center in Le Sueur. Memorial services will be on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Zion U.C.C. in Le Sueur at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be on Friday, January 27 at the church from 4-8 p.m. Interment will follow services later that day at Brown Cemetery, Henderson, MN. Norris was born on Dec. 6, 1933 in Henderson Township, Sibley County to Paul and Adina (Malz) Brandt. He attended Henderson Schools and graduated from Henderson High School in 1951. He married Beverly Ann Nagel of Belle Plaine on Sept. 6, 1955 at Zion United Church of Christ in Le Sueur, MN. Norris farmed the family farm and transported livestock for area farmers for many years. He was very passionate about his farm and his trucking business. He bought the business from "Ace" Buley in 1959 and he has operated Brandt Trucking since. He was also the founder of Henderson Shipping Association, which held annual meetings for years. Norris enjoyed taking pictures with his disposable cameras, picking up garbage / recycling, feeding birds and deer and mostly family. Norris was active for years in the Henderson School Board and St. Paul's UCC Church Council. Norris is survived by his wife, Bev; Children,Eileen Brandt of Henderson, MN, Linda (Fred) Wentzlaff of Henderson, MN, Dave (Kyleen) Brandt of Henderson, MN, Judy (Kevin) Savage of Henderson, MN, and Steve Brandt of Belle Plaine, MN; Grandchildren,Nathan (Brooke) Wentzlaff, Katie (Mike) Thelemann and Natalie Wentzlaff, Tate (Amy) Brandt and Brynn (Jamie) Hathaway, Nick, Kelsey and Abby Brandt; Great-Grandchildren,Mylie, Drake and Grady Brandt and Hudson Hathaway; Sisters,Doris Wigand of Henderson and Adella (Ewald) Gruetzmacher of Belle Plaine, MN; Brother,Donald Brandt of Henderson, MN. He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Adina Brandt & infant son. Memorials preferred.
