Olive Maki

Olive Maki, age 103 of Henderson, passed away on April 9, 2016 at the Minnesota Valley Health Center nursing home in Le Sueur. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 14, at the Kolden Funeral Home in Henderson. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday morning. Interment will be in Brown Cemetery in Henderson. Olive was born in St. Peter on January 19, 1913 to Nelson and Elizabeth (Mohrenweiser) Carpeneter. She grew up in Henderson area and graduated from Henderson High School. She attended teachers college and taught in the Henderson area country schools for many years. Olive also worked for the phone company for over 25 years retiring in 1972. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and watching the Vikings and Twins. She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Judy, three brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her granddaughters, Jennifer (Dan) Emmons of Anoka and Kris Schuster of Cosmos, 2 great grandchildren, Alex and Rachel Emmons, Other relatives and friends.
