Orville L. Pioske died on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Oak Terrace Health Care Center in Gaylord.. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 15, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Zion United Church of Christ in LeSueur. Interment, with military honors, will be in Mound Cemetery in LeSueur. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday at the Kolden Funeral Home in LeSueur and one hour prior to the services at the church on Monday. There will be a Masonic Service at 7 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Orville Lowell Pioske was born on October 3, 1925 in Kelso Township, Sibley County, MN to Frederick and Mabel (Swanson) Pioske. He was baptized at Scandia Grove Lutheran Church, Norseseland and confirmed at Zion Church, LeSueur. He attended country school #53 in Sibley County and graduated from LeSueur High School in 1943. He served his country in the occupation forces of the U.S. Army in Europe following WW II. He was united in marriage to Doris Nichols on February 3, 1956 in Kasson, MN. This union was blessed with 5 sons and 1 daughter. They were married 19 years before her passing away. On August 26th 1978 he married Elsie Rickheim. They were also married for 19 years until her passing. Farming was his passion and only hobby. He toiled in the fields as long as he was physically able, then relegated himself as the chuck wagon cook to feed the "boys" during the harvest seasons. He served on the Kelso Township board for over 30 years; was a charter member of the Sibley County Zoning Commission; was appointed by Governor Arne Carlson to the Citizens Advisory Committee for the Minnesota River; past master of Union Lodge #45 AF & AM, Le Sueur, and the Royal Arch Masons; received the Sibley County Outstanding Conservation Co-operator award in 1991. He enjoyed road trips and his many winter getaways to Arizona. He is survived by sons Kevin, Le Sueur; John (Maureen), Le Sueur; Norman, Le Sueur; Barry (Jacqueline), Cleveland, OH; and daughter Wendy (Donn) Koperski, Farmington, MN; 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; many nieces/nephews; stepsons Robert (Susan) Rickheim, Winthrop; Steve Rickheim, Winthrop and Lonnie Rickheim, Brooklyn Center and their families; Siblings: Raymond (Betty)of Waconia; Frederick (Karen), Shakopee; Karen Pioske, Le Sueur; Brother-in-law James Tillotson, Alexandria; and sister-in-law Gladys Herrly, International Falls. He was preceeded in death by his parents, 1st wife Doris; son Arlen; 2nd wife Elsie Gorr Rickheim; brothers Kenneth, Gordon, Donald, Loren and infant brother; sisters Marie, Pearl , and Darlene.
