Patricia H. Athmann

Patricia Helen Athmann, 88, of Belle Plaine passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 after battling dementia.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 11, 2022, 1:00 PM with family receiving friends one hour prior to Mass at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church, 200 E Church Street, Belle Plaine, MN. Memorials preferred to Sharing and Caring Hands in lieu of flowers.

Pat was born on April 15, 1934, to Joseph and Mary Roney. She grew up in Minneapolis and attended Ascension Catholic School and St. Margaret’s High School in Minneapolis. Pat was a faithful follower of Jesus and was devoted to her Catholic faith and the Holy Rosary. She was a proud member of Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church.

In March of 1967, she married Kenneth Athmann and they had three daughters. They lived in St. Louis Park, Annandale, Chaska, Cape Coral, Osakis, Hutchinson and later Pat moved to Belle Plaine after her husband’s death. Pat was a joyful person, who was passionate about sports, watercolor painting, flowers and was very proud of her grandchildren.

Pat is survived by her daughters; Paula (Dale) Williams of Belle Plaine, Linda (Patrick) O’Brien of Belle Plaine and Tricia (Howard) Hodge of Champlain, stepson Grant (Doris) Athmann of Minneapolis, five grandchildren; Tyler, Jamie, Hayley & Luke O’Brien, Grant Athmann, siblings; Eugene (Gerry) Roney of Brooklyn Park, Maxine (Jerry) Flugaur of Maple Grove, Irene King of La Grange Pk, IL, Donna (Patrick) Kelly of Otsego, Jim (Sharon) Roney of Dayton and many nieces and nephews.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband Ken, parents Joseph & Mary Roney and sister Marie Nelson
