Patrick John Devine

June 28, 1947 — April 10, 2014

Patrick John Devine, age 66 of Le Sueur, died on April 10, in Le Sueur. Memorial Mass will be on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anne's Church in Le Sueur. Visitation will be at the church from 9:00 a.m. ~ 11:00 a.m. the morning of the Mass. Fr. Roger Hessian will be officiating the Mass. Following Mass, there will be a luncheon at St. Anne's School in Le Sueur. Pat was born on June 28, 1947 in Fort William, Ontario Canada, (Thunder Bay), to John Muriel (Kalkman) Devine. When he was quite young, his family moved to the Minneapolis Area. He graduated from Our Lady of the Ozarks High School, (Carthage Missouri) a boarding school that was a preparatory seminary preparing to enter the Catholic priesthood. He later attended the University of Minnesota where he studied Philosophy. Other occupations he held included fourth grade teacher, worked as an advertising and jingles professional and he played for many years in rock band. He married Mary F. O'Brien on June 19, 1976. The couple lived and raised their family for many years in Le Sueur. He worked as a Residential and Commercial Painter. Pat especially enjoyed canoeing, camping, playing guitar and loved all kinds of music. He also enjoyed reading, writing, jokes, penmanship, debating and storytelling. Road trips and map reading was also special interests to him. He loved his children and grandchildren. Pat is survived by Mary Devine of Le Sueur, MN; children, Matt Devine of Le Sueur, Angela Wilmes of Le Sueur, Sarah (Nicholas) Shouts of Mankato John Devine (special friend, Connie Mellott) of Le Sueur. Grandchildren; Bailey, Hannah Sadie Wilmes; Kalie Moriah Devine; Elijah Alley Shouts and Brock Devine. One brother, Bill Devine of St. Paul, MN. Aunt, Mercedes Beuning of Andover, MN. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and an uncle.
