Paul O. Braun

Paul O. Braun, age 88 of Le Sueur, died on Monday evening, March 23, 2015 at the Comfort First Care Facility in Le Sueur. Funeral will be on Friday, March 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion United Church of Christ in Le Sueur. Visitation will be on Thursday, March 26, from 4-8 p.m. at the Kolden Funeral Home in Le Sueur. Visitation will continue Friday morning one hour prior to the service at church. Interment with Military Honors will be in Mound Cemetery, Le Sueur, MN. Paul was born on August 11, 1926 to Paul E. and Pauline (Nuessmeier) Braun in Le Sueur County. He was baptized and confirmed in Dresselville Church in Sharon Township, Le Sueur County. He attended District #99 schools in Le Sueur County and graduated Valedictorian from Montgomery High School. He served in the United States Army following World War II. Most of his overseas service was spent in Bulgaria. Following his service, he later attended Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis and married Mary L. Pinney on August 23, 1950 at the Presbyterian Church in Le Sueur, MN. Paul farmed his entire life in the Le Sueur area. He served on Zion UCC church council, UCC MN Conference Church & Ministries Committee, Le Sueur Farmer Elevator Board, Le Sueur School Board, taught Sunday School at Zion U.C.C. for many years, First Farmers & Merchants Bank Board & proud of 35 + years perfect attendance in Le Sueur Rotary Club. Paul especially enjoyed yearly vacations up north at the lake, fishing, Card Club for many years, cribbage, golf, reading, word and mind tease puzzles. His greatest enjoyment was his family and gatherings. Family wishes to thank the staff at Comfort First Care Center in Le Sueur for their loving care. Survived by: Son, David (Betty Jo) Braun LeSueur; Daughter, Kathy (Jim) Deidrick, Waverly, MN; Son, Bob (Betty) Braun, LeSueur; Son, Brian (Cindy) Braun LeSueur, Son, Ron (Wendy) Braun, Apple Valley, 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren. Brother Delmer (Betty) Braun Montgomery, Sisters & Brother-in-Law, Frances and Elden Schwarz, Vivian Pinney, Sharon Pinney, Rita Miskimen, Many nieces and nephews.
