Paul Edward Meffert

Paul E. Meffert age 51, of St. Paul, formerly of Le Sueur died on Sunday, April 22, at Regions Hospital in St. Paul. Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at the Kolden Funeral Home in Le Sueur from 4-8p.m; and also one hour prior to service time at the chapel. Funeral service will be on Thursday, April 26 at 1:00 p.m. at Ft. Snelling National Memorial Chapel (101 Snelling Lake Rd., St. Paul, MN 55111). Interment with full military honors will be in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Mpls. at 2:00 p.m. Paul was born on Oct. 7, 1960 to Gerald and Melba (Tellijohn) Meffert in Arlington, MN. He graduated from Arlington High School in 1979. He entered and served in the United States Marine Corp. After his service he graduated from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul with a Masters Degree in Law Enforcement. He worked for many years as a sergeant in the St. Paul Police Dept. until his recent illness with pancreatic cancer. Paul enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, and camping with his family. Paul is survived by his children,Katyana (Peter) Miller of Le Sueur, Robert Meffert of Le Sueur and Cassandra Meffert of St. Paul; Grandchildren,Lilyanna Zeglin and Dylan Beseke; Parents,Gerald and Melba Meffert of Arlington; Siblings,David Meffert of Arlington, John (Lisa) Meffert of Arlington and Amy (Jeff) Jambeck of Appleton, WI; Former wife, Iris Meffert of St.Peter and many nieces and nephews.
