Pauline “Polly” Adeline Fahey, age 87, of Belle Plaine, died peacefully March 25, 2026, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. A Mass of Christian Burial for Polly will take place Monday, March 30, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church with Fr. Michael Kaluza presiding. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 29, 2026, from 4-7 p.m. at Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow after the service at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
Polly was born on March 27, 1938, to Martin and Minnie (Coopman) Renne. She was born and raised in Bruce, Wisconsin. On September 7, 1957, Polly married Billy Fahey at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Belle Plaine. Polly cleaned houses and farmed in their Faxon Township home until 2002.
In her free time, Polly liked to go to garage sales and read Nancy Drew books. She loved to garden and took great pride in it. Every year her goal was to grow the first and biggest tomato. Her specialty was making apple crisp and brandy slush.
Polly loved her family and was very proud of them – especially her grandchildren, who lit her up with joy every time they walked into the room.
Polly is survived by children, Joan (John) Fahey of Norwood Young America, Peter Fahey of Belle Plaine, and Billy Joe (Brenda) Fahey of Belle Plaine; grandchildren, Morgan (Tyler) Connolly, Caitlin (Jeff) Green, Mary Fahey (special friend Max Glass), Kyle (Jordan) Fahey, Kayla Fahey, and Tre’Von Fahey; great-grandchildren Callen Connolly, Isaac Fahey, and Claire Fahey; siblings, Bud Renne and Kathleen (Art) Worm; and her special dog, George.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billy Fahey; sisters, Josie Wickelwitz, Gert Monroe, Eldina Eyrich, and Dort Clingsmith; brothers, Melvin Renne and John Renne; and daughter-in-law, Wendi Johnson;
