Pearl R. Skelley, age 85 of Arlington, formerly of rural Henderson, died on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at the Belle Plaine Lutheran Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, March 24, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Arlington, MN. Visitation will be from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the church the morning of the Mass. Interment will follow a luncheon at St. Thomas Catholic Church Cemetery in Jessenland Township, Sibley County. Fr. Keith Salisbury will officiate the services. Pearl was born on August 25, 1926 in Blakeley, MN to August & Helma (Hendrickson) Holste. She attended schools in Blakeley and later Belle Plaine. She married Michael F. Skelley at St. Thomas Catholic Church-Jessenland on May 24, 1944. The couple farmed and raised their family in the Jessenland area, (rural Henderson) their entire life. Pearl enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning and sewing. Pearl also enjoyed traveling with her husband Michael after they retired. She is survived by her children; Pat (Bonnie) Skelley of Belle Plaine, MN Tom (Jackie) Skelley of Eden Prairie, MN Ann (Lon) Skattum of Laguna Niguel, CA Joe (JoAnne) Skelley of Priest River, Idaho Mary Skelley of Mankato, MN Joyce (Al) Koller of Henderson, MN Joan (Steve) Heinz of Henderson, MN Debra (Russ) Blaschko of Mankato, MN Steve Skelley of Henderson, MN Paula Skelley of Portsmouth, NH 32 Grandchildren, 25 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great-Grandchild. Siblings; Alice (Ron) Bocksrucker of Irvine, CA Harvey (Marjorie) Holste of Austin,Texas Kenneth (Mary) Holste of Torrance, CA Frances Wagh of St. Petersburg, Florida She is preceded in death by her husband, Michael in 2000; two infant sons, (John and Timothy) Granddaughter, Michelle Skelley; Sister-in-law, Mary Burke; Siblings: Emmett, Lee, Clara & Henry Memorials are preferred to St. Thomas Catholic Church, Jessenland Cemetery Fund, St. Mary's Catholic Church, Arlington, or the Belle Plaine Lutheran Home.
