Phyllis was the daughter of Iver & Inga (Carlson) Larson, She was born in Minot, ND where she attended elementary and secondary school and graduated from Minot Senior High School in 1958.  After high school she attended business college followed by working at multiple hospitals in ND and MN.  She was united in marriage to Ken Kiemele on September 24, 1960 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Minot where they made their home before moving to Minneapolis, MN.  Ken and Phyllis raised their three sons in the Henderson, MN area and then moved to Le Sueur where they spent the next 39 years.

Phyllis was the smiling face you would see at the local orthodontist office for over 25 years before retiring in 2005.  They loved traveling and one of her many adventures was in 2006 where they spent the summer working in Yellowstone National Park as greeters at the Lake Yellowstone Hotel.  Although out of her comfort zone, she cherished the memories of meeting and working with people from all around the world on a daily basis.  Phyllis was a member of Word of Life Church for 41 years where she actively served the Lord she loved.

Some of Phyllis’s most favorite things; sunsets, the smell of coffee when opening a new can, leg rubs and back rubs from Ken, calls from her boys, singing hymns and chocolate covered orange sticks.  Most of all, she cherished time spent with her granddaughters teaching needlepoint and having tea parties. Phyllis will be remembered for her witty sense of humor, her helpful advice and guidance, and her unwavering faith in God as she is welcomed home to begin her eternal life.

Preceded in death by son Jon David, parents, mother and father in-law, EJ and Emma Kiemele, sister,  Lorraine & brother in-law Don Dahlien and sister in-law, Carol Crilly.
