Randy Runge

Randy Lee Runge, age 55 of Belle Plaine, formerly of St. Michael, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 20, 2023 at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee.  Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 27, 2023 at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church in Belle Plaine.  Fr. Michael Kaluza will officiate.  Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. on Sunday the 26th at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine and continue one hour prior to the service at church on Monday morning.

Randy was born in Mankato on October 19, 1967 to LeRoy and JoAnn (Mrotz) Runge.  He grew up in New Ulm and graduated from New Ulm High School in 1986.  On June 15, 1991 he married Dawn Higgins at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Ulm.  They lived in St. Michael where they raised their two children Naython and Nicole.  Randy worked for many years at Plunkett’s Pest Control as well as the Silgan Container can plant in Shakopee.  He enjoyed traveling with his wife and family. He was an avid Vikings fan. He also enjoyed spending time with friends and his dog Harper.

Randy is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. He is survived by his wife, Dawn,

Children, Naython Runge of Bozeman, MT, Nicole and Austin Betz of Howard Lake, MN. Siblings, Dawn and Brandon  Klingfus, Renee and Jack Lenz.

In-laws, Wayne and Carol Higgins, Sherri and John Matthews.

Nieces and Nephews, Justin Wiltscheck and family, Dani Lieder and family, Kailee Tintes and family, Zach Lenz and Jake Matthews.
