Ray A. Schwarz, age 82 died unexpectedly on Monday, February 13, 2017 at the Minnesota Valley Health Center in LeSueur. Memorial services will be held on Friday, February 17, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in LeSueur. Visitation will be on Thursday at the Kolden Funeral Home in LeSueur from 4 to 7 p.m. and continue one hour prior to the funeral services. He was born on September 5, 1934 in St. Peter to Raymond and Frances (King) Schwarz. He graduated from LeSueur High School and studied Agriculture at the University of Minnesota. Ray married Joan Davis on October 29, 1960 at the United Methodist Church in LeSueur. He farmed family farms in Sharon and Ottawa Township, retiring from farming in the early 1990's. Ray also was a cabinet and furniture maker and worked with Wesley Schlegel in Schwarz-Schlegel Custom Interiors doing finishing and remodeling of basements, bathrooms, and kitchens. He was an active collector of miniature agricultural equipment and dolls. Ray was a member of the Pioneer Power Association and displayed his miniature collectables at their show. He enjoyed his Harley Davidson motorcycle, playing cards and music. Survivors include his wife, Joan Children; Brad (Wanda) Schwarz of Shakopee, Linda (Tim) Peterson of Vancouver, Washington, David Schwarz of Gaylord and Craig (Megan) Schwarz of LeSueur. 10 Grandchildren; Jenna and Jake Schwarz, Brady and Kailey Peterson, Tyler, and Dillyn Schwarz, Triston and Maci Schwarz, Lane and Mia Schwarz. Sister, Leanne (Myron) Wolf of Cleveland, Minnesota and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter, Marli Schwarz.
