Richard Lee Fries

Richard “Rick” L. Fries, age 65 of Pequot Lakes, MN, formerly of Arlington and Green Isle, MN died at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Brainerd, MN on August 8, 2025.

Rick was born on April 18, 1960, to Raymond and Eleanor (Schaefer) Fries.  He grew up in the Arlington area and graduated from Arlington High School.  He married Nancy Klanck in 1989, they later divorced.  He owned and operated Fries Auto Repair in Green Isle for many years and moved to Pequot Lakes in 2005, where he continued to Repair cars in Jenkins, MN.  Rick liked to hunt, fish, work on cars and spend time with friends and relatives.

He is survived by his sister-in-law, Bonnie Fries of Hamburg, MN and many cousins, relatives and friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Linda Mathews and Jerry Fries.

A celebration of life for Rick will be Friday, August 22, 2025, from 5-8 p.m. at the Club New Yorker in Green Isle.  A second celebration will take place at Ya Old Pickle Factory in Nisswa, MN on Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. ~ 5:00 p.m.
