Richard "Dick" Mesenbrink, age 76 of Belle Plaine, formerly of Prior Lake, passed away at his home on Thursday, May 20, 2010. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 24 at St. John Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine. Rev. Mark Johnson will officiate. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at church. Interment will be in Valley Cemetery in Shakopee. Richard was born in Excelsior on February 10, 1934 to Edward H. and Marie R. (Techam) Mesenbrink. He grew up in Shakopee and graduated from Shakopee High School. On March 2, 1957 he married Genevieve C. Chlan at Holy Redeemer Church in Montgomery. Dick was in the Army from 1957 to 1959 where he trained at Fort Hood in Texas and also served in Germany. Dick worked for Highway Display, a sign company for 5 years. He then went to work for Bohnsack & Hennen, a Prior Lake excavating firm from 1963 to 2000. He also worked for the DNR out of Jordan doing outdoor maintenance. He enjoyed the outdoors especially hunting, hobby farming, fishing and camping. He was also an avid reader, enjoyed polka music and spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Doris Mesenbrink, Harriet Henkes and Rose Marie Busse, and brothers in law, John Henkes and Joe Bush. Richard is survived by his wife, Genny of Belle Plaine; 3 Daughters, Debra (Daniel) Kling of Hammond, WI, Pamela (Thomas) Cates of Belle Plaine, Cynthia (Robert) Coughlen of Savage, Grandchildren, Brian, Emily and Caroline Kling, Katie and Danny Cates, Rose, Cheldon and Anna Coughlen. Siblings, Elizabeth (Herbert) Weckman, William (Betty) Mesenbrink, Elaine Bush and brother in law Robert Busse, and many Nieces and Nephews.
