Rita Brittan

Rita Alice Brittan, age 70 of Belle Plaine passed away on June 26, 2013 in Belle Plaine, Minnesota. Memorial Service will be at 11a.m. on Monday July 1, 2013 at the Lutheran Home Chapel in Belle Plaine. Rev. Ed Fredrich will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel on Monday. Interment will be at a later date in the Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Greenwood, IN. Rita was born on November 26, 1942 to Elwin and Mary Alice (Zigler) Brittan in South Bend, IN. She grew up in Indianapolis, IN. Rita lived in Florida for 29 years with her parents. She worked at McDonald's and at an assisted living facility. For the past four years she has lived in Minnesota. Rita enjoyed working at Sibley County DAC, visiting with family and friends and continued to be active with the Special Olympics. She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her Siblings, Bill (Carolyn) Brittan of Indianapolis, IN, Marcia Windsor of Stratford, CT, Jean (Ted) Waltz of Shorewood, MN; Nieces and Nephews, Kelly (Tom) Hoskins, Brit Windsor, Lori Thompson, Brenda (John) Lionetti, Beth (Matt) Post, Mindy Waltz-Bach, Bill Windsor, Zach (Kristin) Waltz; 13 Great-Nieces and Great-Nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Lutheran Home: Hope Residence.
