Rita Savage

Rita Savage, age 87 of Belle Plaine, passed away on April 25, 2019 at Kingsway Retirement Living in Belle Plaine.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30th at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church in Belle Plaine.  Fr. Roger Hessian will officiate.  Visitation will be from 4-8p.m. on Monday at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine and continue one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Tuesday morning.  Interment will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.

Rita was born in Derrynane Township on October 28, 1931 to Michael and Anna (Guessen) Glisczinski.  She graduated from New Prague High School and on August 9, 1958 she married Patrick Savage at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lexington.  She was a homemaker much of her married life as well as a nurses aid at the Lutheran Home.  She enjoyed flower gardening, canning, crafts and watching her grandchildren play sports.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Patrick in 2017 and son, William.

She is survived by her children:

Sons, Ronald (Jeannie), Kevin (Judy), Anthony (special friend, Tammy Drill), Robert (Jodi),

Daughters, Diane (Larry) Borgardt & Jennifer (Thomas) Fahey.

15 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren,
