Robert Frank Brown

Robert F. Brown, age 72 of Belle Plaine died on March 14, 2013 at The Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine, MN surrounded by his family. Funeral Service will be 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday March 19, 2014 at St John Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00p.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Belle Plaine. Bob was born on April 19, 1941 in Albert Lea, MN to Leo and Mildred (McCracken) Brown. He graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1959 and graduated from Mankato State University in 1964 with a Degree in Teaching. He married Judy Rasmusson at Emmons Lutheran Church on September 7, 1963. Bob taught in Winnebago for 3 years before moving to Belle Plaine where he taught 6th grade for years. Bob enjoyed coaching football and basketball. He worked for Don Laabs Construction in the summer months, building many homes in Belle Plaine including his own and he also worked at the Scott County Fairgrounds for many years. He enjoyed golfing and had the joy of making a hole in one, bowling, and fishing were his other hobbies. He loved to travel and enjoyed many trips with family and friends. Bob was a past member of the Jaycees and the Historical Society of Belle Plaine. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Alan Rasmusson. Bob is survived by his wife, Judy; daughters, Shari (Jim) Esson of Austin, MN; Lori (Jeff) Thaves of Belle Plaine, 4 grandchildren, Afton and Mackenzie Esson and Kelsey and Colin Thaves; sister, Sharon (Gary) Nelson of Hastings, MN; brother, Jim (Pam) Brown of Albert Lea, MN; sister in law Joanne (Earl) Jensen of Apple valley, MN; and nieces and nephews.
