Robert Charles Davis Sr.

Robert Davis Sr., age 90 of Belle Plaine died at his home on March 2, 2011. Funeral service will be at 1p.m. on Sunday, March 6 at the Nash-Jackan Funeral Home Chapel in Bruce, Wisconsin. Visitation will be from 2-5p.m. on Saturday at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine with a 4:30p.m. Masonic Lodge Prayer Service. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the Nash-Jackan Funeral Home in Wisconsin. Interment will be in the Village of Bruce Cemetery in Bruce, Wisconsin. Commital prayers provided by First American Legion Post #268. Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine is handling the arrangements. Robert was born in Postville, Iowa on January 11, 1921 to Lester and Cecil (Gordon) Davis. He graduated from High School in Bruce, Wisconsin. He hauled milk for a couple years before entering the U.S. Army in October of 1942 and serving his Country during WWII. On September 14, 1946 he married Lorraine Weuthrich. He took over his family farm and hauled livestock until 1954 when he went into the grain elevator construction business. Because of the nature of this business he moved his family around extensively. He worked in Corpus Christi, TX before moving to Greenwood AR where he retired. He moved back to Minnesota in 1991. He was a Masonic Lodge Member, was an avid fisherman, loved horses and dogs, enjoyed gardening and making maple syrup every spring with his friends in Wisconsin. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife Lorraine in 1997, and sister Vivian Brainerd. Robert is survived by his 2 children, Linda (Lloyd) Styrwoll of Grand Rapids, MN, Robert "Bob" (Lois) Davis Jr. of Belle Plaine, MN; 6 Grandchildren, Lindsey, Brian and Matthew Styrwoll, ‘Berta (Dennis) Lilenthal, Robert (Tina) Davis, and Michelle Furrer (special friend Chris Foland); 8 Great Grandchildren, Colton, Devin, Kaden, Rogan, Michael, Brayden, Autumn and Ashton; and many nieces and nephews.
