Robert Henry Liebhard

Robert Henry Liebhard, age 81, of Belle Plaine, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2025,11:00 am. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Arlington. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 14, 2025, at Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine from 4-8 p.m. with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service, as well as 8:30-10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2025. Interment will be at Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Belle Plaine following the service and luncheon.

Bob was born on June 18th, 1944, to Harlan and Arvilla (Mechtel) Liebhard in Shakopee, MN. As a young boy, he lived in Jordan before moving to Faxon Township, Sibley County. He attended Belle Plaine schools and graduated from high school in 1962.

Bob met and fell in love with Carol McAllister. They were married on April 18th, 1964, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Jordan, MN. Several years later, they purchased Bob’s dream farm, of which he had dreamed of owning as a teenager while riding the bus. Together they raised their family of five children; four sons and a daughter.

Bob worked many years in the plastic industry along with his farming career. He enjoyed his many years of being a dairy and cash crop farmer. In his free time, Bob loved hunting, fishing, farming, trapping, gardening and his love for Johnny Cash music.

Bob is survived by his wife Carol of 61 years; children Bob Liebhard Jr. of Henderson, Mike Liebhard of Belle Plaine, Laurie (Rick) Wolf of Henderson, Jeff (Becky) Liebhard of Belle Plaine, and Mark (Denise) Liebhard of Green Isle; 21 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; brothers LeRoy (Doreen) Liebhard of Belle Plaine, Wayne (Joy) Liebhard of Prior Lake, Brian (Sheila) Liebhard of Belle Plaine; sisters Kathleen Seaver of Henderson, Linda (Brian) Trost of Belle Plaine, Janet (Vlad) Martz of Prior Lake, Lynette (Larry) Johnson of Colorado, and sister-in-law Mary Nelson of New Prague.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Harlan and Arvilla Liebhard; brother Eugene and sister-in-law Layna Liebhard, and brother-in-law Jack Seaver; grandchildren Jennifer (Wolf) Compton and Jordon Liebhard; parents-in-law Lee and Loretta Mueller and Hiram McAllister; brother/sister in laws Bob and Lois Boettcher, Bob and Joyce McAllister, Tom and Suzan McAllister, and Karen Mueller.
