Robert Meyers

Robert L. Meyers of Arlington, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at the age of 75 yrs, 5 mo, 5 days at Sibley Medical Center in Arlington, MN. Visitation will be on Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m, at Peace Lutheran Church in Arlington, MN. Memorial and burial services will be private. Pastor John Stern will officiate the services. Robert was born on May 5, 1942 in Arlington, MN to Edward and Hildegarde (Wegener) Meyers. He was baptized on May 14 1942 by Rev. J Ellerbush, received first communion June 18, 1950 and was confirmed in faith with the Saint name Leonard on June 30, 1952 by Rev. J Murray all at St Mary's Catholic Church of Arlington. He graduated from Arlington-Green Isle High School on June 2, 1960 and lettered in basketball and baseball. He then went on to Mankato Community College to study Accounting and graduated on June 21, 1961. He married Nyla Hurst on June 22, 1963 and she preceded him in death on October 22, 1994. Bobby got his start in plumbing with Thomes Bros. before starting Bob's Plumbing & Htg, in 1973. He worked for 43 years until his health forced him to retire in 2016. Robert married Stella (Nemitz) Kube at Peace Lutheran Church on November 25, 2000. He also served on the Arlington City Council from 1991 to 2000. Bobby enjoyed bowling, collecting coins, shaking dice, casinos, scrapping, junk collecting and his time with his grandkids. Bobby is survived by his wife Stella, Step-sons; Wayne (Krista) Kube of Arlington; Kevin (Valerie) Kube of Arlington; Jason (Hilary) Kube of Arlington; Justin (Laura) Kube of New Prague and Jeremy (Katelyn) Kube of Arlington, MN. and 13 Grandkids; Mya, Bradyn, Kyan, Austin, Taylor, Parker, Dominic, Payton, Paris, Carter, Cooper, Addison and Brixen. He is also survived by his sisters; Barb and Ruth and daughters; Beth and Stacie and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also preceded in death by his parents.
