Robert L. Oehlsen

Robert Louis Oehlsen, age 7l, of Le Sueur died Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Minnesota Valley Memorial Hospital in Le Sueur. The funeral service will be on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Le Sueur. Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 6 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Kolden Funeral Home in Le Sueur, and at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Interment will be in Mound Cemetery, Le Sueur. Robert (Bob) was born in Iowa City, Iowa to Arnold and Dorothy (Rice) Oehlsen on September 14, 1941. He and his parents moved to Devils Lake, North Dakota, in 1956 where he graduated from Devils Lake High School. He attended the community college in Devils Lake for one year and then transferred and graduated from NDSU in Fargo, ND. He continued his education at NDSU towards a Masters Degree. His career covered many diverse career paths; first, a teaching position at Mayville State College, Mayville, ND and then worked for the Green Giant Company for several years. The last 12 years of his career was at Telex Corp. in Le Sueur as Materials Manager. Bob retired in 1996. Bob is survived by his wife, Barbara, and his daughter, Nancy (Andrew) Lyons of Duluth, GA.; Step-children: Anne (Ron) Sinell, Le Center, MN, Kristine (Giovanni) Orbita, Hibbing, MN and Steven Holtz, Wabasha, MN.; Step-grandchildren: Nicole Holtz, Nathan (Whitney) Holtz, Shane Sinell, Jordan Sinell, Laura Hinrichs, Matthew Hinrichs and Vincenzo Orbita; Step-great granddaughters: MacKenna, Morgan and Rylee Holtz. He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Janna Barr.
