Robert Schleeve

Malcolm “Robert” Schleeve, age 91 of LeSueur died on January 31, 2022 at his home.  Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Zion United Church of Christ in LeSueur.  Military rites will be provided in the parking lot of the church after the conclusion of the church service.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church. A time of fellowship, coffee and sweets will be served in the church social hall following the service. Interment will be in the Hillside Cemetery, near the Schleeve family farm at a later date. Bob was born on August 18, 1930 in Sharon Township to William and Esther (Ruehl) Schleeve.  He graduated from Cleveland Public School in 1948 and worked on the family farm.  He was inducted into the U. S. Army in 1951 and served in occupation forces in Germany for 15 months and was honorably discharged in 1953.  He  married Edith Marquardt on July 31, 1955 in Henderson, Minnesota.  Bob farmed in Sharon Township until 1991 and retired to LeSueur.  He was a long-time member of Pioneer Power Association, where he operated the blacksmith shop for 28 years.  He enjoyed hunting, playing golf, working with the grounds crew at the LeSueur County Club, dancing, wood working and time spent with family and friends. He was a member of the V.F.W., The American Legion and served on the LeSueur Honor Guard for many years. Bob had been active in the PTA and served the Zion United Church of Christ on the church council and sang in the choir.

Robert is survived by his children, Paul (Bobbie) Schleeve of LeSueur and Ranae Schleeve of Minneapolis, 3 grandchildren & 6 great-grandchildren and a sister, Avis Sebastian of Washington state.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith in 2020, brother, Willis Schleeve and a sister, Iomie McCabe.
