Robert A. "Bob" Walters, age 75 of Gaylord and formerly of rural Arlington died on Sunday, January 8, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Center in Arlington surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 17, 1936 at Watkins, Minnesota to Peter and Christine (Neu) Walters. His mother died at an early age and he was also raised by his step-mother, Evelyn Walters. He married Jean Bradley on August 29, 1959 in Minneapolis. They lived in Shakopee where he worked as a mason. In 1972 they moved to rural Arlington and farmed in Green Isle Township. In 1996 he retired from farming and worked for Bongards Creamery for a number of years. They enjoyed wintering in Apache Junction, AZ after his retirement. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing with grandchildren, outdoors, golfing, woodworking and camping. Bob was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife, Jean Children, Bonnie (Marlin) Krienke of Glencoe, Bob (Beth) Walters of Gaylord and Becky (Jon) Anderson of Chaska and 10 grandchildren. Also survived by, two brothers, David (Barb) Walters of Evansville, MN, Rod (Mary Sue) Walters of Buffalo, MN and two sisters, Donna (Mike) Bauer of Richmond, MN and Janice Conley of Watkins, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Gene and Wayne. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Arlington. Fr. Keith Salisbury will celebrate the mass. Interment, with military honors by the Arlington Memorial Honor Guard, will be in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington is in charge of arrangements.
