Roger C. Lietz

Roger C. Lietz, age 73 of Arlington passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 22nd at Zion Lutheran Church in Arlington. Visitation will be 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to service time Monday all at the church. Interment will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, New Auburn Township. Kolden Funeral Home of Arlington is assisting with arrangements. Roger was born on September 26, 1942 in New Ulm to John and Elenor (Sievert) Lietz. He was a 1960 graduate of Brownton High School. Roger married Mary Lundberg on September 2, 1967 in Arlington. He was an insurance agent, farmer and for the last 23 years had a daily paper route. Roger was a proud Gopher fan, member of Gideon International, longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church and a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a man of great faith and loved to tell stories about his family. Roger is survived by his wife Mary Lietz of Arlington, daughters Amy Kohls of Woodville, Wi., Jill (Chad) Christenson of Forest Lake and Sarah (Todd) Loechler of Prior Lake, grandchildren Janessa & McKenzie Kohls, Cayden, Colby, Cullen and Charli Christenson, Neva, Jett and Lily Loechler, siblings Robert Lietz of Oak Park, Ill., John (Sandi) Lietz of Hutchinson, Jane (Norman) Wolfe of Vancouver, Wa. Roger is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Ruth Close, Julie Riegert, Joel Lietz and Randy Lietz.
