Roger Maurice Wilkinson

Roger M. Wilkinson of St. Peter, age 87, died on January 2nd, 2026 surrounded by family at his home. Memorial services will be held on Friday, January 9th, 2026 at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Peter, MN. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with funeral services to follow immediately after.

Roger was born on November 6th, 1938 to Maurice and Jean (Wright) Wilkinson in St. Peter, MN. He attended St. Peter schools and graduated High School in 1957. After graduating, he worked on the family farm for a period of time before serving in the United States Army Reserve.

Roger married Sharon Kamps of LeSueur, MN on September 3rd, 1960. The couple farmed near St. Peter, MN for many years. Roger also worked with the FSA office, All American Foods, Gustavus Adolphus College, and Corporate Graphics International.

Roger was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, The Redman Club, and The American Legion Club in St. Peter, MN. In his free time, Roger enjoyed shaking dice with friends, playing cards, cribbage, and Friday Night Happy Hour Group. He especially enjoyed traveling with Sharon and spending time with children, grandsons, and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Sharon of 65 years, children; Robert (Shelley) Wilkinson of St. Peter, MN; Roger E. (Heidi) Wilkinson of San Antonio, TX; and Pamela (James) Bergeman of Owatonna, MN. 5 grandsons; Roger (Marie) Wilkinson, Tom Wilkinson, Anthony (Kathy) Wilkinson, Cole (& partner Crystal Morton) Bergeman, and Sean (& partner Tayler Freeburg) Bergeman. Additional grandchildren; Kristin Rapp, Corey Rapp, and Sarah Rapp. 4 great-grandchildren; Roger, McKenzie, Katana, and Ava Wilkinson. Sister; Donna Welcome of Sun City, CA; and sister-in-law Charlotte Kamps of LeSueur, MN. He is also survived by nieces; Debbie (Manuel) Banderas, Jean (Butch) Young, nephews; Jeff, Jake, and Nick (Angela) Kamps and other friends and relatives.

Roger is preceded in death by his parents Maurice and Jean Wilkinson; infant daughter Lynn Marie; Father-in-law Harold Kamps and Mother-in-law Ruth Kamps; Brother-in-laws Allen Welcome and Doug Kamps; Step-mother Gladys Wilkinson Randolph; Step-brother Dean Fosdick.
