Rolan Seaver

Rolan Leon Seaver passed away May 19, 2016 at his home, with family by his side, at the age of 98. A private memorial service will be held. Memorials are preferred to the Belle Plaine Vet's Club. Rolan was born in Bertha, Minnesota on March 12, 1918 to William and Ida (Lohman) Seaver. On February 14, 1940 he married Margaret Oelfke at the Trinity Lutheran Parsonage in Belle Plaine by Pastor Waldemar Schuetze. Rolan served in the United States Army during World War II. He worked for Minneapolis Moline in Hopkins for many years. After working a few different jobs, he worked for ITT, where he retired at the age of 62 years. Rolan's life interests were fishing, watching wrestling, keeping up with the news, and caring for his home. He liked playing the guitar in earlier years and taught himself to play. He would always share a glass of wine when someone would stop in. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Margaret of 68 years in 2008, son Lloyd in 2010, infant son Craig in 1958 and daughter in law Jo Ann in 2009 Rolan is survived by his four sons, Glenn and Bob (Barb) of Belle Plaine, Bill (Jan) of New Prague and Donnie of Jordan. Five daughters, Jean Seaver, Joan Kubes, Janet Halverson and Judy (David) Bessel all of Belle Plaine and Joyce (Pat) Hogan of New Prague and daughter in law, Dana Seaver of Colorado. 15 Grandchildren, 20 Great Grandchildren and other extended family members.
