Ron Hoff

Ron Hoff, age 72 of rural Henderson, passed away September 14, 2022, at his home.  An open house will be held in his honor October 9th from 2:00-5:00pm at Edgewood Farm at 32112 Scenic Byway Rd, Henderson, MN 56044.

Ronald William Hoff was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on July 28, 1950, to Robert and Edna (Loewe) Hoff. He spent his childhood in St. Paul and Roseville, MN.  He graduated from Alexander Ramsey high school in 1968. In 1970, Ron joined the Army National Guard and served six years. During this time, he was also working at Montgomery Ward selling shoes when he met Judy Carlson who was a nursing student at the time.  They were married on September 12, 1971, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine.

After Judy and Ron were married, Ron attended Mankato Technical College where he studied Electronic Technology. In his 40’s, Ron attended Mankato State University where he received his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. Ron was co-founder (along with his wife Judy) and President of Healthcare Academy, a family business they founded in 1995.

Ron loved spending time with his family. His family was his first love, but he also loved his work, reading, cutting down trees, watching deer on his field cameras, photography, hunting, fishing, and spending time in Florida.  He especially loved baseball and going to the Twins spring training games. Ron was also an eternal optimist and was hopeful every year that the Vikings would pull off a Super Bowl win.

Ron was preceded in death by his mother, Edna (Loewe) Hoff; father, Robert Hoff; mother-in-law, Betty Carlson; and father-in-law, John Carlson.

Ron is survived by his loving family: wife of 51 years, Judy; son, Tony Hoff of Henderson; daughter, Erin (Ryan) Moonen of Waconia; Grandchildren, MacKenzie Hoff, Ava and Owen Moonen; brothers Robert (Anne) Hoff, Christopher Hoff; brothers-in-law Larry (Pauline Liebhard) Carlson, James (Kay) Carlson; many loved nieces, nephews and friends.
