Ronald J. Fenske

Ronald J. Fenske, age 71 of Belle Plaine and formerly of Arlington died on September 3, 2012. Funeral service will be 7:00pm on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at the United Methodist Church in Arlington. Fr Bob Pierson, OSB will officiate. Visitation will be from 3:00-7:00pm at the church on Thursday. Private interment will be in the Arlington Public Cemetery in Arlington. Ron was born on January 11, 1941 to Ervin and Leona (Lenz) Fenske in Gibbon, MN. Ron grew up in Arlington and graduated from Arlington Green Isle High School. After high school he joined the U.S. Air Force. He was stationed in Tucson, AZ. While on leave, Ron married Esther T. Sylvester on September 26, 1960 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Mountville, MN. He attended the University of Minnesota. Ron worked at Henry W. Anderson Funeral Home in Minneapolis and Roschen Funeral Home in LeSueur. They moved to Arlington in 1971. He owned and operated the Fenske Funeral Home and Fenske Furniture and Floor Covering. In the late 70's he sold the furniture store in Arlington and bought the Hayes Funeral Home in Belle Plaine. Ron sold his funeral home business after the death of his wife Esther in 2001. He was a member of the LeSueur Country Club, Monaco Motor Home Group, Rotary in Belle Plaine, City Council in Belle Plaine, Arlington Fire Department and State Board of the Minnesota Funeral Directors Association. Ron enjoyed golfing, hunting, and travelling. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister Shirley and brother Ervin. He is survived by his son, Jerrad Fenske of St. Paul; Sister - in- law, Dorothy Fenske of Arlington; Companion, Tove Lund of Arlington and many other relatives and friends.
