Ronald P. Hennen

Ronald P. Hennen, age 90 of Belle Plaine, MN, died at his home in Belle Plaine on Tuesday, August 2, 2016. Memorial Mass will be on Friday, August 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Church Catholic Church in Belle Plaine, MN. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Interment with Military Honors will be in St. Peter and St. Paul Cemetery in Belle Plaine. Ronald was born on March 19, 1926 in Marystown Township, Scott County, MN to Lawrence & Cecilia (Theisen) Hennen. He attended rural Marystown Township schools. He married Marian Van Sloun on June 28, 1949 at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Chaska, MN. He owned and operated a service station for a short time before entering the United States Army in 1954. When he returned home he owned and operated the Hennen Jewelry Store in Belle Plaine for 33 years. Ronald was very active in the Knights of Columbus, (Treasurer), Development Corp, (Treasurer); City Council; President of the Downtown Retail Association, Chairman of Belle Plaine BBQ Days, President of the Belle Plaine Chamber, Rotary Executive Program, Our Lady of the Prairie Church Council, T.C.C. Park Board and A.F.S. Student Chapter. He is survived by his wife Marian, Children; Mark (Mary) Hennen of Inver Grove Heights, MN; Paul Hennen of Coon Rapids, MN; Mary Kay (Tim) Rossebo of Woodbury, MN; Carol (Neal) Hauser of Prior Lake, MN and Carl (Miki) Hennen of Chaska, MN. 10 grandchildren, Matt, Rachel, Sarah, Doug, Jared, Maria, Joe, Sophia, Luke and Nicole and 2 great-grandchildren, Levi and Caleb. Siblings; Marlene Walters of Chaska, MN; Beatrice Simon of Shakopee, MN; Alvin Hennen of Belle Plaine, MN and Tom (Carol) Hennen of Shakopee, MN. He is preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Connie; daughter-in-law, Ann Hennen and siblings; Eldred Hennen, Don Hennen, Jerry Hennen, Nellie Wick and LaVonne Stack.
