Rose I. Madlo, 90, of Belle Plaine passed away peacefully on Wednesday June 22 at Central Health Care nursing home in Le Center, Minnesota. Funeral service will be at 11a.m. on Monday, June 27, 2016 at St. John Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine. Rev. Mark Johnson will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church on Monday morning. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Belle Plaine. Rose was born on September 14, 1925 in Faxon Township, Sibley County to Paul and Ida (Schultz} Bessel. She attended country school and helped take care of the family farm. On November 18, 1944 she married Joe Madlo at St. John Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine. They lived on the family farm in Belle Plaine for 62 years. Rose enjoyed going on rides in the country side, stopping somewhere for lunch and spending time with family. Rose is survived by daughters, Carol (Dave) Preuhs of Le Center, Gloria (Leon) Volek of Belle Plaine, son Ron (Sharon) Madlo of Cabool, Illinois, sister-in-law Virginia (Otto) Bessel of Belle Plaine, brother in law Ortwin Hafemann of New Germany, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joe, son Dale, brothers, Warren, Sonny (William), Roy, sisters, Florence Otto, Violet Stier, Babe (Delores) Hafemann, sister-in-law Mabel (Laabs) Bessel, brother-in-law Harold Otto, and granddaughter Clara Madlo.
