Roslyn “Rose” Ida Savage, age 92, of Belle Plaine passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church in Belle Plaine at 10:30 A.M. Fr. Michael Kaluza will officiate. Visitation will be Monday, January 29, 2024 at Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine from 4-7 P.M. Interment will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Belle Plaine.
Rose was born on March 7, 1931 in New Prague, Minnesota to Mathias and Albina (Svoboda) Ruhland. She grew up in Union Hill and graduated high school in New Prague in 1949. She married Thomas Savage at St. John’s Catholic Church in Union Hill on June 7, 1950.
She worked as a cook and a waitress for most of her working career retiring from Emma Krumbee’s after 20+ years. Outside of work, Rose enjoyed going to many different activities with Stephanie and Linda. And loved “the 3 B’s” bowling, bingo, and beer.
Rose is survived by her children, Debbie (Kenny) Edaburn, Karrie (Duane) Deutsch, Tim (Wanda) Savage, Stephanie Savage and Pauline “Beansy” (Greg) Zurn, 16 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren; brother, Ronald (Carol) Ruhland; and sister, Romana McGuire.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas (1994), daughter, Linda Savage (2022), parents, and siblings.
