Ruby L. Rohloff

Ruby L. Rohloff, age 92 of Le Sueur, died on Monday morning, November 13, 2017 at the Minnesota Valley Health Care Facility, (Ridgeview Le Sueur Medical Center). Funeral services will be on Friday, November 17, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Zion United Church of Christ in Le Sueur. Visitation will be at the church from 9:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. following the service, lunch in the church social hall. Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 18, at Hillside Cemetery in St. Charles, MN. Pastor Kent Meyer will officiate the services. Ruby was born on October 5, 1925 to William and Anna (Markwardt) House near St. Charles, MN. She grew up in the St. Charles area and graduated from St. Charles High School. She went to the Twin Cities after high school and began a short career at Archer Daniels Commodities. She married Eden Fred Nelson in 1952 in St. Charles, MN. The couple later moved to St. Peter where she worked at Nelson's Self Services Laundry from 1962 to 1970. She then worked for a time in the Bakery at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter. She also worked as a home health aid. Ruby and Fred later divorced in 1987. She married Willard Rohloff at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Peter in 1992, he passed away in 2002. Ruby was very active at Trinity Lutheran Church, St. Peter, teaching Sunday School and later active in Circles in her church in Le Sueur, Zion United Church of Christ. She was also active in Camp Fire Girls when her daughters were younger. She loved spending time with family, gardening and enjoyed feeding and watching the birds. Ruby is survived by her two children; Barbara Nelson & her special friend Tom Chantler of Mankato, MN and Ken Nelson of Lincoln, Nebraska. Four Grandchildren; Lisa (Matthew Harris) Kunkel of Owatonna, MN; Brad Kunkel and his special friend Doah Wadekamper of Waseca, MN; Michael Kunkel and his special friend Amber Proechel of Waseca, MN; and Holly Kunkel of Waseca, MN; 6 Great-grandchildren; Abriana, Olivia, Emerik, Kallop, Jaya and Kameron. She is preceded in death by two children; Linda Kunkel in 2010 and Jean Nelson in 1961; 6 siblings; Vernice Anderson, Francis House, Evelyn Weilbecher, Jesse House, Delores Koenig and Lucille Kurtz.
