Ruby O. Teschendorf

Ruby O. Teschendorf, age 90 of Henderson, died Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at the Benedictine Living Community Nursing Home in St. Peter. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 21 at Zion United Church of Christ in LeSueur. Visitation will be from 12:30 until the time of the service, at the church on Saturday. Special music will be performed by Grandson, Jason Teschendorf. Following the services a catered meal by KFC will be provided in the church social hall. Interment will be in Brown Cemetery in Henderson. Ruby was born on July 29, 1921 to August and Olga (Binder) Ahrens in Belle Plaine Township. She attended Belle Plaine schools. She married Alvin Teschendorf on May 18, 1940 at St. Paul's U.C.C. in Henderson. She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary and the Women's Guild. Her favorite interests were baking, gardening, canning, and spending time with family. She also enjoyed the beauty of nature and wildlife in her backyard. Ruby is survived by her son, Richard (Alisa) Teschendorf of Le Sueur; daughter, Judy (Ivan) Krentz of Henderson; 6 grandchildren, Don (Linda) Coil, Tim (Jodi) Coil, Shawn (friend, Paula) Coil, Jason Teschendorf, Kim (Rick) Leonhardt and Melissa (Patrick) Barry; 10 great-grandchildren, Brad, Craig and Casey Coil, Liza Svihel, Lindsay Coil, Sophia and Evalynne Coil, Carson and Caden Leonhardt and Riley Barry; 6 great, great-grandchildren, Taylor and Kate Svihel, Owen Coil, Emma Coil, Evan Coil and Dallas Coil; sister, Stella Reinke of Jordan; and sister-in-law, LaVerne Ahrens. She is preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Alvin, brothers Raymond Ahrens, Willmer Ahrens, sisters Viola Stier and Erma Buszmann.
