Rudolph G. Dorweiler

Rudolph "Rudy" G. Dorweiler, age 74 of Belle Plaine, formerly of Arlington died at the Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine on Thursday, December 25, 2014. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday December 30 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Arlington. Visitation will be on Tuesday at the church from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. with a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Honor Guard. Interment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Arlington, MN. Fr. Jerry Berger will officiate the Mass and burial services. Rudy was born on April 16, 1940 to Rudolph and Frances (Fehring) Dorweiler in Curlew, Iowa. He grew up in the Iowa area before moving with his family to Belgrade, MN in 1947 and Lamberton, MN in 1950 as a youth. Rudy worked various jobs on farms before he began his work with Jasken Construction in Faribault, MN. He married Theresa Gillis on February 15, 1969 at St. Bethlehem Catholic Church in Faribault. He later began his work as a Union Contractor with Adolph & Peterson Construction in the metro area where he worked for over 20 years as a proud Union Contractor. Rudy was a member of the Arlington Fire Dept. for over 20 years, St. Arthur's Council Knights of Columbus in Arlington and was a 4th Degree K.C. Rudy is survived by his two children, Peggy (Spencer) Miller of Jordan, MN and Jeff (Angie) Dorweiler of Green Isle, MN; 7 grandchildren, Zachary, Brandon, Kristine, MacKenzie and Andrew Dorweiler and Kayla and Jordin Miller; siblings, Wilbur (Madonna) Dorweiler of Arlington, MN, Jane Bastel of Millbrae, CA, Edward (Kathy) Dorweiler of Montgomery, MN, Albert (Karen) Dorweiler of Chaska, MN, Ralph Dorweiler of Plymouth, MN, Allie (Leon) Hendrycks of Marshfield, Missouri and Bob (Betty) Dorweiler of Faribault, MN; sister-in-law, Joanne Dorweiler of Champlin, MN; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Theresa (2005); brothers, Bernard, Donald & Clarence and sister, Lois Johnson.
