Russell T. Lloyd

Russell T. Lloyd, age 72, of Cleveland, MN, passed away peacefully at his home on Easter Sunday, April 4th, 2021 from a rare bacterial infection and secondary HLH immune disorder. Russell Thomas Lloyd was born in St. Peter, MN to David H. and Beatrice (Rollings) Lloyd on June 13th, 1948, the fifth of seven children. He graduated from Cleveland High School and proudly served in the U.S. Navy in Florida, Scotland and Japan. After an honorable discharge from the Navy, he graduated from the University of Minnesota-Waseca and returned to the family farm, raising Brown Swiss dairy cows, hogs, and crops until retirement. He married Judy Bauleke in Le Sueur, MN on July 28th, 1979 and they raised three children, Andrea, Jennifer and David. He was a member of the Cleveland Church of Christ and remained active in the church family throughout his life. He served in several farm organizations, assisted with his children’s 4-H projects, and enjoyed county fairs, Pioneer Power, and other local events. He loved traveling with his family, driving his John Deere 60 and being Grampa to his five grandchildren – reading, singing, doing puzzles, and playing in the yard. He was a kind and generous man known for his daily walks and drives, striking-up a conversation with anyone, and being a faithful servant of Christ. Russ is survived by his wife Judy of 41 years; children Andrea (Luke) Buckley, Jennifer (Cory) Dieteman, and David Lloyd; grandchildren Jacob and Kate Buckley, Rally, Chase, and Dakota Dieteman. Brothers Melvin (Monie) Lloyd, Norman (Kim) Lloyd and sister Betty Lloyd, sister-in-law Lois Lloyd, brothers-in-law Gary (Debra) Bauleke and Donald (Nancy) Bauleke. Also survived by an aunt, Lula Fleming, and nieces, nephews, and cousins. Russ was preceded in death by his parents David H. and Beatrice Lloyd, parents-in-law Floyd and Harriet Bauleke, brothers Curtis (Carole) Lloyd, Don Lloyd, sister Ruth (Victor) VanLeer, and aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Memorial services will be Saturday, June 26, 2021, 2:00 p.m, Church of Christ in Cleveland, MN, (light meal to follow).  Burial at a later date in Elim Welsh Cemetery, rural Le Sueur, MN.  We appreciate the assistance of the Cleveland American Legion Post #207 Honor Guard.  Koldenfuneralhome.com
