Ruth Elsie Mesker

Ruth E. Mesker, age 89 of Henderson, died Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at the Minnesota Valley Health Center in Le Sueur. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2012 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Henderson. Rev. Brigit Stevens will officiate. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Saturday until the time of services at the church. Interment will be at a later date in Brown Cemetery in Henderson. Ruth was born on January 7, 1923 to William and Ella (Young) Stiehm in Henderson, Mn. She grew up in Henderson and graduated from Henderson High School. She married Arthur Reinhardt in 1942 and he died in 1945. She then married Orville Mesker on May 3, 1948. She worked as a cashier at the Sibley County Bank for many years. She was an active member in the American Legion Auxiliary and the Women's Guild at St. Paul's U.C.C. She was an active member of her church up until this last year. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking, canning and reading. Ruth is survived by her daughter, Paulette (Terry) Morgenson of Henderson; grandchildren, Theresa (Jerry) Vikla of Lakeville and Paul Morgenson of Henderson; great-grandchildren, Lauren Vikla, Stephen (Jena) Vikla and Cherice, Devin and Katy Morgenson. She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Arthur Reinhardt in '45; second husband, Orville Mesker in '91; son, Tom Mesker and six sisters.
