Ruth Emma Sander

Ruth E. Sander, age 95 of Gaylord, formerly of Henderson, died Friday, September 7, 2012 at the Oak Terrace Health Care Center in Gaylord. Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 14 at the United Methodist church in Arlington. Rev. Wayne Swanson will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the church and also one hour prior to service time on Friday. Interment will be in Arlington Public Cemetery. Ruth was born on October 31, 1916 to William and Laura (Ayer) Hardel in Kelso Township on the farm. She was baptized at St. John's Lutheran Church in Arlington Township. She married Sidney Sander on October 19, 1941. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and woodworking. She was involved with her church and home extension. She also helped for many years at the Sibley County Fair in the Horticultural building. Ruth is survived by her daughters, Eileen (Jim) Dustin of Moorhead, Sylvia Hahn (Dan Hahn) of St. Peter and Barb Dammann of Glencoe; grandchildren, Bonnie Bransford, Paul (fiancée, Erin Stahlecker) Dustin, Jeff Dustin, Martin (Sharon Riesgraf) Hahn, Brent Hahn, Nicole (Brice) Breitkreutz, Angela (Mike Weller) Dammann and Tiffany (Roger Berggren) Dammann; 17 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Laura Renneke and Ethel Mathwig; Sisters-in-Law, Helen Hardel and Ruby Hardel. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sidney; grandson, Cory Hahn; granddaughter, Shelley Hughes; and her brothers and sisters.
