Sandy was born to Sam and Ruth (Anderson) Jennen on October 2, 1947, in Sisseton, South Dakota. She grew up in Veblen and graduated from Veblen High School before moving to Minneapolis. While living in Minneapolis, she met Gary Trost through their roommates who were dating. They fell in love and were married 9 months later on November 26, 1967. Sandy worked for the gas company in Belle Plaine before becoming a full-time homemaker, raising two children, Wendy and Jeff. Sandy was her children's biggest supporter in everything they did. She spent countless hours watching them play sports and never missed a game. Sandy cherished time spent caring for her granddaughters. They meant the world to her. Together they liked to have sleepovers, go shopping, play games, and cook. Sandy especially liked to be pampered as the girls gave her plenty of manicures over the years. She carried on the tradition of watching their granddaughters play sports just as she did their own children.
Sandy was a kind, loving, and bright person who touched those around her. She loved spending time with her family, playing cards, reading, and watching Wheel of Fortune. She belonged to a card club for over 40 years with a treasured group of friends. Sandy will be dearly missed by all, but a piece of her will live on in those who loved her.
Sandy is survived by husband Gary; daughter Wendy (Kevin) Fors; granddaughters Madison (Drew Keup) Fors and Sydney Fors; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son Jeff Trost; brothers Bill (Bernita) Jennen, Terry Jennen, and Gary Jennen.
