Sandy V. Busse

Sandra "Sandy" V. Busse, age 78 of Le Sueur died on Saturday evening, July 9, 2016. She fought a short but courageous battle with cancer while residing at the Comfort First Facility in Le Sueur. She passed peacefully while being surrounded by her loved ones. Her funeral will be Thursday, July 14, 11:00 a.m, Zion United Church of Christ in Le Sueur. Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 13, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Kolden Funeral Home in Le Sueur and 1 hour prior to the services at church on Friday morning. Burial will be in Elim Welsh Cemetery, Le Sueur County. Rev. Jean Sidner and Rev. Kent Meyer will officiate the services. Sandy was born on February 1, 1938 in Excelsior, MN to Lloyd and Velida (Hermann) Schmidt. She grew up in Le Sueur and graduated from Le Sueur High School in 1956. She married David E. Busse on September 27, 1958 at Zion United Church of Christ in Le Sueur. She worked a short time a Super Valu grocery in Le Sueur before her 26 plus year career as a dispatcher with the Le Sueur Police Dept. Sandy enjoyed time spent with her family. She especially adored each of her grand and great-grandchildren. Sandy was an avid crafter and kept busy with her knitting and crocheting projects. She is survived by her daughters; Barbara (Robert) Miller of Henderson, MN; Lisa (Keith) Bahler of Fairbury, IL; and daughter in-law Susan Busse of Le Sueur, MN. Grandchildren; Jeff (Katie) Miller, Eric (Amanda) Miller, Kristen Bahler, Kathryn Bahler, Evan Bahler, Mary Busse, Allie Busse, and Paytyn Busse. Great-grandchildren; Naomi, Maia, Ivy Miller; Everett, and Silas Miller. Siblings; Corrine Valenzuela of Le Sueur; Carole Anderson of Angwin, CA; Don (Sharon) Schmidt of Davenport, IA; William Schmidt of Le Sueur and Judy (David) Marquith of Monument, CO. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, David in 1995 and son Terry Busse in January of 2016.
