Sarah L. Farrell

Sarah Louise Farrell (Jentz), 53, passed away peacefully at her home on July 24, 2026, surrounded by the love that carried her throughout her life. Born on November 26, 1972, in St. Peter, Minnesota, Sarah was the daughter of Vernon Otto Jentz and Norma Jean Freter-Janske.

Sarah graduated from Le Sueur High School in 1990, but long before that she had already earned a reputation for keeping life interesting. Whether she was around town or roaming the Jentz family farm near Henderson with her siblings and cousins, you could safely assume that if there was a little mischief to be found, Sarah had probably discovered it first.

On March 17, 1994, she married the love of her life, Michael Farrell. Together they welcomed two children, Christopher and Alycia, who quickly became the center of her universe. Sarah embraced motherhood wholeheartedly, pouring her heart into raising her children and celebrating every milestone, big or small. They remained her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment even after she and Michael later divorced.

In April 2022, Sarah moved in with Michael and Laurie Farrell, whose love, patience, and unwavering devotion provided her with a home filled with laughter, dignity, and compassion for the final four years of her life. She was also blessed with many wonderful caregivers who became like family.

Even as life's challenges grew, Sarah never lost the spark that made her unmistakably Sarah. She was famous for her perfectly timed eye rolls, playful attitude, and the occasional well-deserved (or not-so-well-deserved) middle finger—most often aimed at Michael. She had a gift for communicating exactly what she was thinking, even after words were no longer available to her.

Sarah loved attending church, going out for lunch with family, riding along as "Grandma Taxi" with Laurie, and cheering on her bonus granddaughters, Elizabeth and Victoria Boulton, at dance recitals, sporting events, and school plays. Music filled her heart, especially country music, and if Keith Urban was playing, you could count on Sarah enjoying every minute of it.

Her smile could light up a room, her laugh was contagious, and her feisty spirit was impossible to ignore. She had a way of making people feel welcome, keeping them on their toes, and leaving them with a story to tell. Sarah reminded us all that strength isn't always loud, joy can be found in the smallest moments, and a little sass can carry you through almost anything.

Sarah leaves behind her children, Christopher Farrell and Alycia (Kegan) Frandle; her siblings, Eric Jentz, Daniel (Stephanie) Jentz, and Amy (Clint) Grunzke; Michael and Laurie Farrell; her beloved bonus granddaughters, Elizabeth and Victoria Boulton; many other cherished relatives, dear friends, and the caregivers who loved her so well.

She was welcomed into heaven by her parents and her grandparents.

A celebration of Sarah's life will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026, at 12:00PM with visitation one hour prior from 11-12PM at the River of Life Lutheran Church, 830 Sunrise Drive, St. Peter, Minnesota. To honor Sarah's vibrant spirit and colorful personality, guests are encouraged to wear pink or other vibrant colors—because black just never seemed quite her style.
