Sharon Potthier

Sharon May (Andrews) Potthier, age 80, of Belle Plaine, formerly of Superior, Wisconsin, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at The Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine. A Celebration of Life for Sharon will be on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine at 4p.m. with Pastor Ed Fredrich, officiating. Visitation will be from 1-4p.m. prior to the service at 4p.m.

Sharon was born on January 29, 1946, in Superior, Wisconsin to Frank and Hazel (Johnson) Andrews. She grew up in Superior and lived there until young adulthood. She then met and fell in love with Mike Potthier. They were married on June 5, 1976, in Hawthorne, Wisconsin in the front room of Mike’s family’s home. They lived in Hawthorne, Virginia, Iron Range, and Half Moon Lake raising their two daughters before finding their forever home in Belle Plaine in 1989. She worked as a bartender at Neil’s and a cook at the Elementary School but spent most of her career as a cook at the county jail. She was well known there and loved as she treated everyone with respect and humanity.

During Mike’s military service, Sharon was always very supportive and was a proud member of the VFW Auxiliary. She loved to garden, play Mah Jong, and do word searches. Sharon was well loved by anyone that came to know her.

Sharon is survived by her significant other, Mike Potthier; daughters, Colette (Sean) Murphy, and Colleen Flynn; grandchildren, Tiffini Blume, Abigail, Nathan, and Domonic Flynn, and Madeline and Autumn Murphy; sister-in-law, Connie Andrews; nephew, Vernon Andrews; and family friend, Karen Sandmon.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Hazel Andrews; siblings, Shirley Boyer, William “Bill” Andrews, Suzie Ziesmer, and Sunday Andrews; and family friend, Tom Sandmon.
