Sharon was born on July 19, 1942, in St. Peter, Minnesota, to Gerhard and Ethel (Mueller) Lieske. She spent most of her life in Henderson, where she graduated from Henderson High School in 1960 before continuing her education at Mankato Beauty School.
On October 13, 1962, Sharon married Tom Trimbo. Together they welcomed four children, Roxie, Mike, Deedra, and Janelle, who remained a central part of her life.
