Sheila Ellen Herrmann, age 64, passed away on March 31, 2025 in Belle Plaine, Minnesota. Visitation will be Friday, April 11th from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine and an hour before the funeral at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church in Belle Plaine.
Funeral will be Saturday, April 12th at 10:30 am. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, followed by lunch in the church social hall.
Sheila requested funeral attendees do not wear black but rather bright, joyful colors. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to: Angel Foundation (MN Oncology), Children’s Home Society, or Sharing and Caring Hands.
Born on May 10, 1960, Sheila lived her entire life in Belle Plaine, graduating from Belle Plaine Senior High School before earning her degree from St. Cloud State University. Sheila dedicated over 35 years of her career to Rosemount, where she was known for her dedication and hard work. After retirement, Sheila fulfilled her need to be around people by working at Bachman’s where she met many wonderful people. Sheila was a devout member of Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church. Known for her compassionate and loving nature, Sheila filled every room with joy. She was not only a faithful friend, but also a fashionable presence, always bringing light and warmth to those around her. A woman of many passions, Sheila enjoyed walking, biking, traveling, reading and entertaining friends and family, activities that she pursued with enthusiasm. Her family brought her the most joy. She especially loved time with her granddaughters. Her zest for life and her joyful spirit were infectious, making every gathering memorable. She was a loving and devoted wife to Dave Herrmann, a cherished mother to Anthony Herrmann (Catherine), and a doting grandmother to Josephine and Brinley Herrmann. She is also survived by her mother, Patricia Fogarty; her sisters, Kim Newman (Neal), Maureen Daehn (Bill), JoAnn Malz (Bob), and Jill Cavanaugh (Jeff); sister-in-laws Debbie Herrmann, Diane Woestehoff, and Donna Oestreich(Perry); along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her father, Leonard Fogarty; in-laws, Louis and Anne Herrmann; and brother-in-law, Dave Woestehoff. Sheila‘s life was a testament to her faith, love and dedication to her family and community. Her legacy of kindness and warmth will continue to inspire those who knew her.
